Spectrum Fantastic Art Live will take place April 21-23, 2017 in the Municipal Auditorium Exhibition Hall—part of the downtown Convention Center—in Kansas City MO.
According to their own site: "SFAL promotes diversity in the arts and provides educational opportunities. The event puts students, attendees, art directors and studios together to help build connections and jobs. SFAL’s mission is to grow the appreciation of fantastic art across all media. It also highlights the increasing impact technology has on the arts and provides platforms for these creators and innovators."
SFAL 2015 was our first con, and our appearance was a completely seat-of-the-pants operation. SFAL wasn't even in our vocabulary when we were invited by a fellow artist to cough up the funds for him to reserve a second exhibitor's table so we could exhibit next to each other.
It was a lot more exhausting than we could have imagined, but we had a great time and SFAL gave us the confidence to exhibit elsewhere, including Dragon Con 2016.
This year, we've reserved a full booth and have come a long way from the PVC-pipe, pegboard, and tablecloth backdrop that we threw together for SFAL 2015.
This year we'll be bringing back a couple of our most popular prints (in both large and small sizes) and will also be bringing newer offerings such as the insanely popular Book Curse bookplates and a number of Book Dragon bookmarks and prints.
We've plenty of work to do to get inventory levels where they need to be, so I'll be going now. Hope to see you at the show!
