St. Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians. She is said to have heard heavenly music inside her heart when she was forced to marry the pagan Valerian. Beyond this, hers is one of those apocryphal biographies that is probably not based on much more than a whisper of historical truth. Nonetheless, many have asked St. Cecilia for her inspiration and intercession (plus, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to illustrate a saint playing a Gibson DG-335)!
